I received this today and I have the flu so my nose isn’t great so forgive me if I’m incorrect but to me it has a Gloria Vanderbilt powder scent to it. What is interesting is the Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies EDT lasted over 24 hours on my skin. A spicy peachy-rose that oddly reminds me of the smell of Anna Sui nail polishes (I'm serious about this - I can't seem to find people talking about this but I swear Anna Sui scents her nail polishes with something extra). White Diamonds, Passion and Diamonds and Emeralds are my other ET fragrances that I own Emeralds is my favourite as I love Tuberose and Gardenia but Rubies is beautiful. Disclaimer: (And No, I am not reviewing this now as a symbol of support for any political parties that identify with this color.

I can recommend this perfume to only one very specific group: people dressing up or posing as androids or other non-human types. Passion, her debut fragrance (1987) is Liz Taylor as Cleopatra, in full make up and costumes, atop that giant Sphynx as she enters Rome in triumph.Surprisingly gourmand and not at all like the original White Diamonds, although they both share a retro/vintage flair. Despite the long list of notes, I don't get much of anything more than perhaps vanilla in this scent. Nahema isn’t really similar to Diamonds and Rubies (as I initially thought prior to doing a wrist to wrist comparison), it opens more smoky, more dusty rosey and feels more serious in a way. Diamonds and Rubies is a beautiful fragrance that was created by the famous perfumer Sophia Grojsman and is expertly blended.

Years ago everyone wanted to be "ultra-modern" and wear something extremely extravagant and crazy - to smell like a tarmac, or rain, or new car's leather seats. The soap is truly like a cheap soap, there's no fruitiness, no peach no almond in there, no sourness like some said. I'm sure side by side I could pick out the differences but with a 20 year gap (seriously, how it that possible? This is now one of my top favorites, and a wonderful, romantic aura I like to surround myself in, especially for bedtime. This is a very beautiful powdery dusty, woodsy rose with a hint of creamy peaches, jasmine and ylang-ylang and subtle spice.

The projection stays within an inch or two of the skin and I get about 4 hours of longevity before it dies away completely.
